Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week
The Royal Norwegian Embassy and the NBBA Association provided support in the organization of the five-day international event Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week, which was held in the period from September 25 to 29, 2023.
On the initiative of the Ambassador, Olav Reinertsen, the NBBA association was founded in 2020, with the aim of improving business cooperation between Norway and Bosnia and Herzegovina. NBBA connects decision-makers from BiH and Norway, draws their attention and discusses issues that may arise among its members. It encourages the representatives of companies who are active in these two markets to establish closer contacts and develop business for the mutual benefit of friendly countries.
During the conference, speaking on energy transition, Olav Reinertsen, Ambassador of Norway in BiH, opened with: “Norway and the Western Balkans region share a special relationship. Our partnership also extends to the critical domains of energy and climate. Norway, with its rich history in sustainable energy solutions stands ready to support and contribute to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region’s journey towards a greener future.
One of my main objectives as Ambassador to BiH was to expand the commercial relations between our countries. To facilitate those efforts, we established the NBBA – Norway BiH Business Association two and a half years ago. I am proud to say that NBBA, whose chairperson is amongst us today, has exceeded all expectations. Trade volume has increased by 500% – investments even more. And most of it is in the renewable sector.”
